"Students of the Holy Sepulchre design art for AZ Turnhout"

Turnhout - Students from the Holy Sepulchre in Turnhout are working with American artist Tramaine de Senna on the project Blijde Gedachten. The students create artistic works that will be placed in the AZ Turnhout to offer resilience to patients and visitors.

Blijde Gedachten aims to use art to broaden care. Students from the second year, 2B Art and Creation, and the fifth year Visual Arts of the Holy Sepulchre searched together this year for answers to questions about what connects them to the world of the past and present.

Contemporary artist Tramaine de Senna from the United States supervised the students. “The artistic collaboration between Tramaine de Senna, the students and the teachers yielded wonderful results”, says Chris Campers, Art teacher and initiator of the Heilig Graf. “Together they created artistic applications based on a philosophical approach to what change in the broad sense of the word can mean. The heritage collection of the Heilig Graf and the lace collection of the museums provided a great deal of inspiration as a connecting factor between the past and the present.”

The creative works can be admired from Thursday 30 May at the permanent exhibition of Blijde Gedachten in the AZ Turnhout, Campus Sint-Jozef. (bvdl)
